Flying into Vancouver on the weekend the shadows cast from the different architectural structures of bridges, freeways and buildings in the setting sun had a beauty all of their own and made for a wonderful welcome home.

Anniversary Bouquet matted and framed

With today’s lovely wedding that I am attending and our three family wedding anniversaries all within two weeks of each other this anniversary bouquet from last year was just asking to be matted and framed. Wishing much Happiness and Joy to the happy couple today and a very Happy Anniversary to us all, but especially to the love of my life for Monday❤️

For this week’s Photo Challenge from The Daily Post one of my happiest corners this past week was the corner of my work table in the studio where the real artist in the family, in less than an hour, gave me a lesson in impressionism, abstract expressionism and action painting.

Oh, what joy!

With thanks to my daughter for the photo of my beautiful granddaughter and me.

that’s the spirit

Ooh, Shiny!
Diversions, distractions, and delightful detours.

For this week’s Photo Challenge from The Daily Post we are asked where do we find our “Ooh, Shiny” moments. If you follow The Changing Palette you will know one of my favourite walks is in Vancouver’s Pacific Spirit Regional Park, and when the sun is out it’s all about those Ooh, Shiny moments, whether it be the height of the summer, as it was just a week or two ago…

…or in the cool, clear, colorful days of Fall, as I posted in October 2015

I hope you’re exclaiming “Ooh, Shiny!” with me 🙂

goodness gracious…

…great ball of fire.

Last night’s sunset over English Bay in Vancouver was one giant fire ball resulting from the smoke of the wild fires to the east blanketing the city. Our thoughts are with all those who have lost homes and property and have had to evacuate their towns and communities. At the same thanks go to all those on the front lines fighting the fires each and every day.

WPC: Satisfaction

“Share a photo of something that brings you satisfaction,” invites Jen this week.

Picking and eating our cherry tomatoes growing in abundance on our little kitchen deck is as satisfying as it gets at the moment, with many more to come as you can see.

oh I do like to be beside the seaside

A perfect summer’s day on Spanish Banks, Vancouver today. It doesn’t get much better 🙂

so you think you can paint – 20.7.17

You may remember my corps de palett(e) from a previous Photo Challenge over a year ago. Inspired by all of the amazing dancers in this summer’s So You Think You Can Dance I brought out my dancer maquettes again this afternoon and let the ink, paint and brushes do their work.

For C – We are thinking of you ❤️
