Lessons from the Great Masters Day 16 – 23.7.15
Final chapter: Contemporary watercolour
My journey through Lessons from the Great Masters began on June 24th, Day 175. In a few short weeks I feel I have learned so much and once again would like to thank Debi Riley for introducing me to the book through her wonderful blog.
Life long learning is what it’s all about.
It’s been a great journey to share … thank you đ

joyful, rich and vibrant were the first words I thought of seeing this! I loved the strength & surety of stroke in the work as well. I must say, I have been highly impressed with the level of Enthusiasm and commitment you’ve practiced in following the Tate manual to conclusion. The next thing is – it is rare that someone can outdo Turner in painting a Turner painting. I liked yours better. As you know in art, sometimes we win, sometimes we don’t – but you certainly had a lot of ‘winners’ come out from this project! really well done đ

Many thanks Debi for taking the time to write such a lovely critique. Your words are greatly appreciated. “Outdoing Turner,” now that’s another story. You are being very generous but he really was the master of all masters. Spending time exploring his watercolours at Tate Britain is always such an enriching experience. My warmest good wishes as always.

Thank you, thank you!! for mentioning my website several times Andrew! Yes;Turner was The Master. But, honestly, the painting You did vs the actual one; yours (from what I saw) was ….More. đ Cheers, debi
