The Last 100 Days
Our world has changed so much over the past three months. This mini retrospective of some of my drawings and paintings, attempting to reflect the tumultuous times we have been living through, show moments of gratitude, heroism, loss, remembrance, inspiration, and protest. Let us hope that at the end of the next 100 days we can all be looking forward to the change that is so desperately needed, as we remember John Lewis and Rev. CT Vivian, two icons of the Civil Rights movement who died on 17th July.Five years ago today I posted a similar retrospective of the then previous 100 days in the studio. Blowin’ in the Wind
Today is Bob Dylan’s birthday. He was born on May 24,1941. He wrote Blowin’ in the Wind in 1962 with lyrics that seem as relevant today as the times they were written for.
How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, ’n’ how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, ’n’ how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?

season of grief
In the words of the Canadian Prime Minister our “season of grief” continues, as today we mourn the loss of six members of the Canadian Armed Forces whose helicopter went down off the coast of Greece: Sub. Lt Abbigail Cowbrough; Capt. Brenden Ian MacDonald; Capt. Kevin Hagen; Capt. Maxime Miron-Morin; Sub-Lt. Matthew Pyke; Master Cpl. Matthew Cousins. We send heartfelt condolences to all the families of these Canadian Armed Forces heroes who are grieving today, as we grieve with them. 🇨🇦
Sub.Lt. Abbigail Cowbrough who was a young Nova Scotia naval officer played her bagpipes only two weeks ago on the deck of HMCS Fredericton to mourn the loss of her fellow Nova Scotians who were so cruelly murdered.
Nova Scotia Remembers
Natalie McMaster and her daughter Mary Francis playing alongside the video of 17 year old Emily Tuck, murdered a week ago, was both a heartbreaking but also beautiful moment during yesterday’s “Nova Scotia Remembers.” Thanks to all those who contributed to the online vigil dedicated the all those beautiful souls who are no longer with us.
pacific spirit
The Pacific Spirit Park came to the studio this afternoon after our walk in the woods on this beautiful Saturday in Vancouver. A moment to reflect, as I do each day, on the dedication and Spirit here by the Pacific of all of our Front Line Healthcare Workers and Volunteers. They are all amazing and we say thank you each and every day.

A bouquet for Easter from the studio today painted once again as a way for me to say thank you to all our healthcare workers and volunteers, heroes and heroines all. They are there for us each and every day and we can’t say thank you often enough.
Vimy Ridge Day 2020
Commemorating in the studio today all the members of the Canadian Corps who were killed or injured during the Battle of Vimy Ridge in Northern France from April 9th to 12th, 1917 but also thinking about all those heroes giving their lives in the battle taking place on our frontlines today.🇨🇦World Health Day
Today on World Health Day and National Caregiver Day we honour all healthcare workers and caregivers here at home and around the world. My little bouquet from the studio today is my small way of saying thank you to them all, not only today, but for everyday. You are the heroes of our time.
