afternoon at the ballet

Yesterday afternoon the ballet came to the studio. Inspired after watching the sublime Tiler Peck, principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, in Ballet 422 on Netflix. Watch this great ballet documentary and be inspired by her too.

Oh the joy of spending time in the studio with my granddaughter who teaches me so much.
The painting is all hers.

overtime tears

Croatia’s overtime goal brought tears to supporters on both sides.
England, you did us all proud. It’s been quite a ride.
Now on to Sunday’s final.

a day of celebration and remembrance

On a day of celebration of the rescue of the Thai boy’s soccer team and their coach this little watercolor sketch of France’s only goal against Belgium today is dedicated to the memory of Samarn Kunan, the Thai navy Seal who lost his life, together with thanks to the brave and dedicated international team that saved them all.

thoughts on the 4th of July

With the red, white and blue in my painting of Glen Canyon, Arizona, I send best wishes for a Happy 4th of July to my family, friends and followers in the States, although I feel sure like me your thoughts today as you celebrate are for those over two thousand babies and children separated from their mothers and fathers and for whom there is little to celebrate.

Oh Canada

I hope your Canada Day was as special as ours.

How lucky we are to be living in the greatest country on earth.

Happy Canada Day 🇨🇦
