Symbol ii

Can there be a more perfect symbol of love, joy, trust and hope than the grasp of the little hand of our beautiful granddaughter who is two weeks old today.

Although I posted this photo the day after she was born, I hope you agree that this close up is worth the re-post in response to Jen’s invitations for this Week’s Photo Challenge, to “…share a symbol with us, and tell us what it means to you.”

Out of Season ii

For a month last November I took part in The Daily Post’s Photography 101. For the final weekend Cheri suggested we all “Get Out and Explore.” Well I did just that on a magical early morning in Vancouver, and posted “It just doesn’t get much better”. Today’s photo is from that Off-Season November morning on Kitsilano Beach, about which I wrote:

Yesterday was one of those magical days in Vancouver. There was fresh snow on the ground and the air was crisp and cold with the sun shining from a blue, blue sky. Although I posted a farewell to Photography 101 with its a wrap, I did indeed “get out and explore” as Cheri had suggested, and with Ben’s convergence very much on my mind had an early morning walk along Kits beach as the sun began to rise.

For this week’s Photo Challenge from Krista: Show us what “off-season” means to you.

Broken rank

Breaking ranks in the corps de ballet.

I took this photo nearly fifty years ago during a rehearsal at Covent Garden, and the negative is as pristine today as it was all those years ago. In response to Cheri inviting us to “find beauty in something broken” for this week’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Broken.

Day 138 ii

A Hill in Umbria 18.5.15

No canyons today; this week Studio 365 will be in Italy, only figuratively speaking unfortunately, to re-visit memorable Tuscan and Umbrian landscapes with villas on hills surrounded by cypress trees and olive groves or the colourful houses of Cinque Terra perched on the rugged cliffs of the Italian Riviera. Aaaah! Bella Italia.
