Antigua study I – 29.11.18 – water-colour/pen and ink
Four years ago I posted about the charitable organization Heath for Humanity and the great work of their surgical missions over many years to Antigua, Guatemala. The post included a video presentation of theirs for those of you who would like to learn more about them, and you can visit their website here: h4h. Earlier this month I had the privilege of joining them for a week, working with wonderful dedicated colleagues who were making a real difference to the lives of so many; heroes all.
Here are a few of my memorable images from Antigua which include the dazzling yellows of the iconic Arco de Santa Catalina, the colourful pastels of the buildings and the Fuego volcano in the distance, which erupted once again just over a week ago.
Those of you who follow me on Instagram will know that we have just returned from a truly memorable visit to the beautiful and historic city of Barcelona.
For my changingpalette followers here are some of our favourite moments, from Antoni Gaudi’s stunning Sagrada Familia cathedral, to his La Pedrera rooftop sculptures and his mosaics in Park Guell, to the glorious paintings of Joan Miro at the Fundacio Joan Miro in Parc de Montjuic, to dinner at the iconic 4Gats restaurant and before leaving the celebrations in the streets on Spain’s National holiday on October 12th.
As you watch the slideshow enjoy the guitar of Edgar Moffatt who treated us to his art as we waited in line for the opening of The Prado in Madrid. (Our Madrid visit to follow).
Out walking on Spanish Banks this morning on this beautiful British Columbia Day these two caught my eye and seemed to express what this holiday is all about. Since this week’s Lens-Artist photo challenge is “Blue” what could be better.
Happy BC Day 🇨🇦
