the fourth season

Having shared with you the glories of Spring, Summer and Fall in the Pacific Spirit Park over the past year, today it is Winter’s turn. What a special place it has been for us, raising our spirits every day as it did once again on this cold frosty day today. How lucky we feel, and we never take it for granted.

2020 look back #4

No surprise that the Pacific Spirit Park should feature in my 2020 look back. This Vancouver jewel has been a sanctuary for us since the beginning of Covid-19. Walking its trails surrounded by these majestic trees has sustained and uplifted us every day as we experienced the seasons changing month by month, the colours of the leaves so often luminescent in the sunshine beneath a blue, blue sky. We have never taken for granted how fortunate we are. Hopefully you have enjoyed visiting with us too.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Seasons

Thanks to Jen’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Seasons, yesterday we visited Vancouver’s beautiful Queen Elizabeth Park and captured, in a few snapshots, a sunny Saturday afternoon in one of our city’s special places.

Queen Elizabeth Park, Vancouver

The open crocuses, rhododendrons and snowdrops, a wedding in the sunshine, children playing peek-a-boo around the Henry Moore sculpture and dancing in front of the fountains, the tulips and daffodils getting ready to burst through, a leisurely cyclist, and all against the backdrop of the city, blue sky and cumulus clouds – I hope your spirits are as uplifted as ours were.

I’ll be back when the flowers are in bloom to share the glorious array of colours that await.

Thanks Jen.
