Photography 101: Water – We want to see your interpretation of water — how might your image reveal more about you?
Water, the essential element in the life of the studio.
And so you have the story behind the name of my blog “revealed”…
If you have a few moments listen to the Lentement from Handel’s Water Music played by Jordi Savall and Le Concert Des Nations, and enjoy a few changing palettes as you do so.
The dialogue between the photograph and the painting as it changes continues until that moment when the conversation ends and the painting is considered finished. The two photographs were taken at the magical Castello di Reschio in Umbria and the paintings completed in my studio back home. I have previously posted the different stages of the second painting, entitled Cypress Alleyway, in response to a previous WPC: Layers, for those of you who would like to have a “virtual” studio visit.
One week to go and the poppies are kindly beginning their display before we leave. (For those of you just joining us see Machu Picchu -27 for the poppy reference). Yesterday (Tuesday) began with coffee with Kiran who is leaving to start her residency in Toronto and a happy meeting once again with Henry (same coffee shop one week later) who was having coffee with his dad. I wonder if he will be having coffee in Machu Picchu when we’re there!
Then it was time for some necessary cleaning and tidying in the studio ready for our return. At some point I’ll post some of my paintings.
