Lookback Vancouver 2010 ðŸ‡¨ðŸ‡¦

The Winter Olympics in Vancouver took place 10 years ago last month with the lighting of the Olympic Cauldron on February 12th 2010. Over the past three weeks I have been celebrating all the amazing athletes and events in the studio bringing back so many great memories. Here is a selection of some of those moments and remarkable athletic achievements.

mogul magic

Remembering the start of Vancouver’s Winter Olympics when 10 years ago today Alex Bilodeau came flying down Cypress Mountain to win the Men’s Moguls Gold Medal.

Then in 2014 at the Sochi Games he became the first Olympian in history to successfully defend his gold medal in any free style skiing event. Congratulations once again to a true Canadian Olympic hero. 🇨🇦

National Flag Day ðŸ‡¨ðŸ‡¦

Fifty five years ago today Canada’s maple leaf flag was raised for the first time on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. As we look back to Vancouver’s 2010 Winter Olympics this month what better way to celebrate our National Flag Day than with the maple leaves around the Olympic Cauldron in Jack Poole Plaza. 🇨🇦
