terrorism

#OurLondonFamily

Today I grieve with my treasured Muslim friends and colleagues mourning the loss of such a beautiful family in London, Ontario who were just out for an evening walk, and thinking of their 9 year old son in hospital, orphaned by such a despicable crime of terrorism and hate. I will always stand with you against Islamophobia, hatred and racism of any kind. My heart breaks with yours as I send my deepest condolences to all of their family and friends in mourning tonight.

Lynn Valley Strong

Moments of peace, tranquillity and joy from the Pacific Spirit Park last week to ease our troubled souls. Every day brings news of unimaginable horror, from young children and protesters murdered by troops in Myanmar, school children bombed in their schools in Syria, boys as young as nine beheaded in Mozambique, mass murder in Atlanta, Georgia and Boulder, Colorado; and now here at home terror in a library in North Vancouver with one person killed and six injured.

Today our thoughts are with the families of all those affected and with the community of Lynn Valley, especially the children who witnessed it all on what should have been a happy Saturday afternoon in their local library, and wishing those who have been injured a full recovery. 🇨🇦

liberty weeps

August 11th and 12th, 2017 will be forever remembered as two days of infamy that brought terror, shame, evil and murder to the streets of Charlottesville, Virginia. I send my condolences to the family and friends of Heather Heyer, murdered as she bravely stood up against bigotry and hatred, and whose words on her Facebook read “If you are not outraged, you are not paying attention.”

I also send condolences to the families and friends of Lt. H. Jay Cullen, Trooper Berke M.M. Bates, who also died as a result of the evil that visited their city.

May they all rest in peace and may Liberty’s flame act as beacon of hope.
