Mirror, mirror on the bay
Who’s the fairest this eve of May?
No contest last night with this glorious sunset over Vancouver’s English Bay.
Last night’s sunset over English Bay was another one of those special moments that makes Kitsilano Beach such a special place to be on a warm spring evening here in Vancouver. You may recall a not too dissimilar image from August 2014 for the Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette.
Walking across Burrard Bridge in Vancouver this morning and looking out to English Bay the view was more spectacular than ever. I paused in the middle of the span and took this shot using the panorama setting on my iPhone 6S. It was only later that I checked this week’s Photo Challenge from Cheri in which she has invited us to “share a photo of a landscape: a wide establishing shot of a scene in nature or an urban setting.” I think this will do don’t you? 🙂
If you would like to see more pictures of this beautiful Art Deco Bridge that was opened in 1932 check out my post a bridge for all from November 2014, which I posted at that time for the third week of Cheri’s Photography 101.
Happy first day of April.
Remembering David Bowie with this morning’s sunrise over English Bay in Vancouver
that was pure magic, as was he.
With one more day to go for this week’s Photo Challenge, how could I not post these images from our morning walk along Kitsilano Beach in the early November sunshine two days ago.
What a treat!

What could be a more “marvellous treat” than walking along Spanish Banks on a perfect October morning in Vancouver and being greeted by a pile of perfect pumpkins set against the beauty of Howe Sound looking towards Lighthouse Park, Bowen Island and the distant mountains that in a week or two will be covered in snow.
After leaving the beach we set off along the Admiralty Trail in the Pacific Spirit Regional Park where the autumnal colours were simply mesmerizing as you will have seen in my post to the Weekly Photo Challenge: Boundaries.
Wishing everyone a very Happy Halloween
Kitsilano Beach, Vancouver 11.10.15, a happy place to restore the spirit at any time of year…
…as someone showed yesterday leaving this gilded frame surrounding a view of Stanley Park.
Wishing everyone a Happy Canadian Thanksgiving Monday.
