Deltaport variation 2.9.15, matted and framed.
Returning from Vancouver Island one stormy August evening in 2015 led to this painting of the cranes of Deltaport against a fiery night sky at sunset and painted two years ago today.
With this post I am thinking of all the recent and ongoing natural disasters around the world this summer, the catastrophic flooding in Texas and South Asia and the wild fires here in British Columbia, all of which have led to so many lost homes and treasured possessions and to too many lost lives for whom today’s post is dedicated together with the volunteers and neighbours helping neighbours who are showing the best of humanity in these troubled times.
Such a powerful picture. Reminding us that Nature is the ultimate force. I respect Her, I am in Her thrall but I rather hope She will feel that she has exerted her strength sufficiently to demonstrate her puissance of late and that she may take a little rest whilst we mere mortals clear up the carnage. My heart remains with all those effected ❤️

Yes, a powerful painting and does evoke thoughts of the flooding and destruction in Texas. Sad days.
