Early this morning in Page, Arizona.

En route from Scottsdale to Page we stopped off at Arcosanti…”an urban laboratory focused on innovative design, community, and environmental accountability.” to quote their home page. Enjoy the slideshow and visit their site to learn more about its history and the science or Arcology.
Antelope Canyon tomorrow.
After sunset on the McDowell Sonoran Reserve in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Inspired by Laura Mackay’s Painted Saguaro and Desert Flower. Thanks Laura for sending us here today.
Just made it as the sun was setting.
On to Page and Antelope Canyon tomorrow.
Today’s painting from the studio is in anticipation of our trip to Arizona, Utah and Nevada. We leave tomorrow for Phoenix, which means Studio 365 will be on the road for the next ten days. In order to keep to my goal of a post from the studio each day throughout the year I am designating my laptop and camera my mobile studio until we return on the 27th. Nothing like a trip however to make you tidy up before leaving!
A little about today’s painting: acrylic and plaster on canvas 78″ x 64″. Once the plaster was dry the rock faces were created with a combination of sandpaper, chisels (my late father’s) and a little imagination.

Today was the last day of the tulip festival in Agassiz, British Columbia, Tulips of the Valley.
I hope you enjoy this slideshow of some of the pictures from our visit on Easter Monday.
Three cranes and the mountain
The iconic orange cranes of the Port of Vancouver against the backdrop of Grouse Mountain and the North Shore mountains.
Returning from Victoria to Vancouver this evening on the BC Ferry Coastal Renaissance passing through Active Pass, with the glow of the setting sun reflected on the Coastal Celebration on its way to Victoria. Orange you glad I had my iPhone with me!
On today’s Weekly Photo Challenge Krista asks ” What does reward mean to you?”
The answer is found in this gallery of photos taken after our six day trek to Machu Picchu in June 2013. Arriving in the early morning of the seventh day, with the sun’s rays illuminating a scene that can best be described as theatrical in its beauty, was a moment of pure magic and the beginning of a never-to-be-forgotten day of wonder and amazement.
