the wrong road

teddyii

After yesterday’s right road all I can feel today is an overwhelming sense of sadness and despair as we remember beautiful little five year old Taliyah Marsman, whose body was found by the road yesterday, and her mother both murdered in Calgary this week, together with all of the other children murdered with their parents in Nice yesterday, including eleven year old Brodie Copeland and his father Sean from Texas, mown down with so many others on the Promenade des Anglais.  We remember them all with a heavy heart, and once again express our sympathy and solidarity with the people of France together with all of the families around the world who may be grieving today .

There are no more words except,

Je suis…un homme qui pleure aujourd’hui.

Kitsilano Beach in Vancouver has been featured many times on thechangingpalette. It is a definite muse and constant source of photographic inspiration, from the crisp clear days of Winter, to the glorious hot days of Summer…

Studio 365 is mobile again, tonight in Ottawa. The Canadian National War Memorial is always such a moving monument to visit but particularly so this afternoon as tomorrow is VE Day commemorating the end of the war in Europe on the 8th of May 1945. It was a beautiful warm evening here as the sun was setting and casting a golden glow across the historic capital city of this great country that is Canada. Here are some images for you to enjoy from my evening stroll.

Oh Canada. They stood on guard for us.

R.I.P. Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, murdered two days ago in Saint-Hubert, Quebec.

This has been a sad week for all Canadians.  This painting by Georgia O’Keeffe from The Philips Collection in Washington entitled Leaf Motif 1,   expresses the emotions I feel tonight.
