Studio 365: Day 11

Day 11 vii

I fell in love with Paris on my first visit there as a young boy in August 1962. I remember as if it were yesterday sitting and drawing in the Tuileries Garden after being inspired by all the French Impressionist paintings I had just seen in the Jeu de Paume, a stone’s throw away.

In the studio today my thoughts are very much with all the citizens of this great city as they walk in their millions for remembrance, for freedom, for tolerance, for love, for mankind, for the future.  In the words of Francois Hollande, Paris truly is “the capital of the world today.”

Studio Light Painting I

Night and Day: this first-time light painting photograph in the shadowy studio at night is so much more dramatic than its day-time counterpart. Progress is definitely being made in the light painting department I think.  I hope you agree.

It’s a new day, a New Year and time as you can see for a new header and a new goal. My resolution for 2015 is to spend more time painting and less time blogging. Since I plan to be in the studio most days my goal is to post a photo from the studio each day throughout the year.

2014 was the year of the Monday Bouquet on thechangingpalette, 2015 will be the year of Studio 365.  I hope you’ll pop by from time to time and see how it’s all going. Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year.
