Day 120 iv

Anemones Variation 30.4.15

Studio 365 is mobile once again this weekend in the mountains of Whistler/Blackcombe in Beautiful British Columbia. Before we left home I photographed yesterday’s anemones that had opened this morning, together with a Warholesque photo-edited variation.

Day 119 iii

A tulipolic with a camellia addiction now has anemonitis!

What a treat to come home to find a garden full of anemones with many more still to come.

Day 118 ii

The Treasured Feather

I suspect those of you who have been following our travels for the past ten days will not be surprised to see that this feather from a Great Horned Owl, the treasure of our journey, is today’s featured image now that we are back home. Our visit to Owl Canyon where we saw the owls sitting high above looking down at us from the red rock, was one of the most memorable moments of the trip.

For those of you visiting thechangingpalette for the first time I invite you to see more images from that remarkable day, and for my fellow travellers take another look and enjoy this most special of places once again: http://wp.me/p3gSod-26w

I think this image also speaks to this week’s Photo Challenge: Motion. I hope you agree

Studio 365: Day 117

So here we are home again after ten memorable days filled with sights and sounds that had all of our senses tingling with excitement and anticipation each day. The studio is as I left it as you can see, except for two treasured additions to the picture. Can you spot them?

Day 106   Day 117

For Day 117 I thought I would post a few of our favorite moments from the trip, and yours I might add, to enjoy one more time and reflect on how fortunate and privileged we have felt, particularly at a time when others across the world are struggling to cope with so much devastation around them. We live in such a beautiful and yet often so cruel a natural world.

Thanks for joining us on our journey, which I hope you have all enjoyed vicariously, as much as we have enjoyed sharing it with you each day.

Day 117 ii

Our welcome home sunset tonight reflected in the waters of English Bay.

Studio 365: Day 106

Arizona

Today’s painting from the studio is in anticipation of our trip to Arizona, Utah and Nevada. We leave tomorrow for Phoenix, which means Studio 365 will be on the road for the next ten days.  In order to keep to my goal of a post from the studio each day throughout the year I am designating my laptop and camera my mobile studio until we return on the 27th.  Nothing like a trip however to make you tidy up before leaving!

Day 106

A little about today’s painting: acrylic and plaster on canvas 78″ x 64″. Once the plaster was dry the rock faces were created with a combination of sandpaper, chisels (my late father’s) and a little imagination.
