Studio 365: Day 106

Arizona

Today’s painting from the studio is in anticipation of our trip to Arizona, Utah and Nevada. We leave tomorrow for Phoenix, which means Studio 365 will be on the road for the next ten days.  In order to keep to my goal of a post from the studio each day throughout the year I am designating my laptop and camera my mobile studio until we return on the 27th.  Nothing like a trip however to make you tidy up before leaving!

Day 106

A little about today’s painting: acrylic and plaster on canvas 78″ x 64″. Once the plaster was dry the rock faces were created with a combination of sandpaper, chisels (my late father’s) and a little imagination.

With today’s image of the Agassiz Tulips it seems a good time to look back over the past one hundred days with nine favourites to make it 10 on the 10th for the 100th.

Vimy Ridge Day commemorating The Battle of Vimy Ridge, April 9 1917

vimy i

The photos for the video were taken during our memorable visit to Vimy in October 2012.  The poppies, waving in the breeze at the end of the video, were from our garden. The bees were just visiting.

I commemorated this day last year with the post: Remembering the Battle of Vimy Ridge
