Yom HaShoah
The Eternal Flame in the Hall of Remembrance at Yad Vashem, Jerusalem, which I drew on July 11th 1967, for this Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, 2019.
“The Eternal Flame, burning from a base fashioned like a broken bronze goblet, continuously illuminates the Hall, its smoke exiting the building through an opening at the highest point of the ceiling. Before it stands a stone crypt containing the ashes of Holocaust victims, brought to Israel from the extermination camps.”

On the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci who died on May 2nd 1519.

Notre Dame
I posted my painting of Notre Dame in November 2015 under the title Je Suis Paris in response to the terrorist attacks that had taken place in Paris on the 13th of November that year.
Today, seeing the sorrowful scenes from Paris of this iconic, majestic landmark engulfed in flames, a landmark that means so much to so many not only in Paris and France but around the world, Je Suis Paris once again.
