…but found the Great Bear.
The Aurora Borealis was forecast to be seen over Metro Vancouver tonight. It’s now 2:30 in the morning and I think I’ll call it a night and be happy with the Great Bear, seen in a beautiful night sky, a sky that has linked our humanity since the beginning of time.

Wonderful photo!

This post made me smile. My daughter and I got up three or four times in the night, hoping to see the Northern Lights, but we were too far south for a view, and the it didn’t help that the moon was so bright. But your photo is beautiful, and I felt a kinship with someone who is willing to lose a little sleep to view one of this world’s marvels.

Thanks Naomi; happy to have made you smile. 2:30 was as long as I could wait but the photo of the Great Bear and the lights across English Bay made it all worthwhile. Best wishes 🙂

We tried to see them here too without any luck. I’m glad you got such a beautiful shot of the Great Bear!

I did not even try waiting for it. I thought of setting the alarm at 4 am. The stars are just as great.
