This week’s finial photo challenge of the year asks us…

“To celebrate the end of the year, share the most meaningful photo you’ve taken in 2017.”

Without a doubt this was one of my favourite and most meaningful photos of the year,
which I posted for International Women’s Day last March.

Take a look back at the UN Women’s web site and use this opportunity to read again their statement “Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50-50 by 2030”.

backdrop to a life revisited

A year ago almost to the day you may remember I posted backdrop to a life part 1 and part 2. This was in response to the Discover Challenge from the Daily Post: Finding Your Place, in which we are asked by Cheri to bring a place alive that means something to you.

Yesterday the snow returned to Vancouver and whilst not as heavy as last year my muse, Kitsilano Beach, became a winter wonderland once again.

Today the snow stopped, the sun shone and camera in hand how could I not venture out and capture it all.

Happy Holidays everyone.

are we there yet?

Ascending the over four hundred steps of the Torre del Mangia of the Palazzo Publico in Siena.
Visit Italy Day Five to enjoy the spectacular view from the top of the tower.

WPC: Ascend

My beautiful granddaughter fearlessly ascends to great heights every single day.

❤️❤️❤️

The Three Graces cheekily contemplate two magnificent frescoes in the Libreria Piccolomini of Siena Cathedral.  On the left Enea Silvio, bishop of Siena, presents Eleonora d’Aragona to Emperor Federico III and on the right Enea receives the cardinal’s hat

The photo was taken with an iPhone 6S during our recent visit to Siena in October.
You can find more images of both the library and of Siena by visiting Italy Day Five.

WPC: Serene

Can any view be more serene than that of the Tuscan hills and fields surrounding the Abbey of Sant’Antimo that we had the good fortune of visiting on Day Seven of our Italian holiday just over a month ago.
